Former Indian actress Swapna Khanna appeared in films in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi during the 1980s and early 1990s. Anil Sharma gave her the name Swapna, formerly known as Manjari Dhody.
Following her debut in the P.G. Viswambharan-directed Sangarsham (1981), Swapna went on to appear in a number of Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films. In addition, she made sporadic appearances in Bollywood films such Janam Se Pehle, Teri Meherbaaniyan, Dak Bangla, Hukumat, and Izzatdar. She made a cameo appearance in the 1988 film Qatil, starring Aditya Pancholi. Following her marriage in 1993, she left the film business and is currently actively involved with her husband, Raman Khanna, in Sangini Entertainment, an event management company that plans and oversees Bollywood and Indian classical dance performances overseas.
