Biography:
Srijit Mukherji is an Indian film-maker, screenplay writer, producer, and director who is best known for working in Bengali cinema. He is considered to be one of the finest film-makers of the present generation in India. With Autograph (2010) as his first directorial venture which was inspired by Satyajit Ray’s Nayak and received critical acclaim, he began a career that witnessed the making of highly praised movies like Baishe Srabon (2011), Jaatishwar (2014), Chotushkone (2014), Rajkahini (2015), Zulfiqar (2016), Ek Je Chhilo Raja (2018), Gumnaami (2019), Dawshom Awbotaar (2023), Padatik (2024), and a legal thriller entitled Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei (2025).
Known for his films’ literary value, innovation, and exploration of history, politics, and human relations, Mukherji is one of the most prominent filmmakers of the present generation.He is also a noted film-maker in the realm of OTT media as he has directed successful web series like Feluda Pherot (2020), Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Ashenni (2021), and Durgo Rawhoshyo (2023). As a film-maker who has won numerous National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards East, and other awards for excellence, he is considered to be one of the most intellectual film-makers of his generation due to his visually appealing and intelligently crafted stories.
