Saurabh Bhave

Biography:

Saurabh Bhave is a director and screenwriter from India who has worked in Marathi cinema and Hindi digital entertainment. Starting his journey as a writer, he has written some of the best movies in Marathi language, including Taryanche Bait (2011), Hrudayantar (2017), Pipsi: A Bottle Full of Hope (2018), Bonus (2020), and Unaad (2023).

Also, he was the writer and associate director for the critically acclaimed Marathi movie Chumbak (2018), which was directed by Sandeep Modi. Bhave has made his directorial debut with Bonus (2020), which is a family drama and was appreciated for its moving story and beautiful portrayal of human relations.

Bhave diversified himself in the field of OTT entertainment when he directed the third season of the popular SonyLIV’s political thriller Maharani (2024), which starred Huma Qureshi, bringing in a new dimension to the series and retaining the same political thrill. Subsequently, he directed the financial crime thriller Tax Department Story (2026), on Amazon Prime Video, starring Ravi Kishan and Aditya Rawal, adding to his long-form digital directorial repertoire.

With grounded stories, emotionally driven characters, and ability to weave reality into dramatic stories, Saurabh Bhave is considered to be one of the promising filmmakers of the contemporary age.
