Sanjeev Kaul

Biography:

Sanjeev Kaul is an Indian film-maker, author, lyricist, and director, who works in Hindi films and digital entertainment. As a screenwriter, he provided the story, screenplay, and dialogue for Abbas-Mustan’s crime action movie Machine (2017), featuring actors Mustafa Burmawala and Kiara Advani. Apart from being a writer, Sanjeev has been directing short films and music videos including Char Dham Yatra (2014), Pentavalent Vaccine (2015), and the music video Teri Yaad (2021).

His directorial debut came in 2025 when Sanjeev Kaul directed the crime thriller Crime Beat which was based on Somnath Batabyal’s novel titled “The Price You Pay”. In this series, Sanjeev tells the story of a talented crime journalist, who investigates a case at the crossroads of crime, politics, and media. Crime Beat proves Sanjeev Kaul’s talent for creating multidimensional stories with elements of suspense and investigative drama. As a director, Sanjeev Kaul is known for his realistic narrative style, his mastery of screenplay writing, and character-oriented directing.
