Welsh actor Sam Locke made his feature film debut in Danny Boyle’s horror sequel 28 Years Later in 2025. He previously starred in the science fiction series Itopia in the BBC drama The Way. He graduated from De Montfort University. Numerous entertainment outlets have praised his performance in 28 Years Later as a breakout role.
Locke talked on the film’s physical demands, including weeks of stunt training and intense action sequences, in an interview with SFX Magazine. He commended the cooperative environment on set and Boyle’s directing. Despite not being named at the time of publishing, his role in the movie is a member of a new group of survivors that the plot introduces.
In a June 2025 interview with WalesOnline, Locke discussed his casting in 28 Years Later, highlighting the physically taxing nature of the shoot and his lifelong passion for acting, which dates back to his time in Merthyr Tydfil.
