Sivaram Narayana Swamy is an actor, director, and screenwriter who primarily works in Malayalam cinema in India. Having been born in Kerala’s Kochi Swamy is especially well-known for writing screenplays for suspenseful movies. He has often worked with filmmakers A. K. Sajan, Joshiy, and K. Madhu.
Some of the most well-known fictional characters in Malayalam film, such as Sethurama Iyer (played by Mammootty) and Sagar Alias Jacky (played by Mohanlal), were created by Swamy. Irupatham Noottandu (1987) and its spiritual successor, Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009), both starred the infamous gold smuggler Sagar Alias Jacky. A real-life police officer named Radhavinod Raju, who retired as Chief of India’s National Investigative Agency, served as the model for Sethurama Iyer, the main character in the CBI film series. There were five sequels to the movie. The character Inspector Balram played by Mammootty in the films Avanazhi(1986) & sequel Balram vs. Tharadas(2006) and Ali Imran, a cop played by Mohanlal in Moonnam Mura (1988) are some of his other creations.
