Rajshree Ojha
Biography:
Rajshree Ojha is an Indian filmmaker, writer, and director who works in Hindi cinema and digital entertainment. Born in Kolkata, she received her education in New York and got trained in film directing from the American Film Institute (AFI), where her graduation short film Badger was awarded the Spirit of Excellence Award for Outstanding Direction. She directed her first feature film, Chaurahen, in 2007, which is the adaptation of four short stories by acclaimed novelist Nirmal Verma.
Though the release of the film was delayed, it got screenings in many international film festivals and got critical appreciation for its sensitive narration. Her next notable feature film Aisha (2010) brought her more popularity, which is the adaptation of the classic English novel Emma written by Jane Austen, starring Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol. Besides, Ojha has also directed one part “Biriyani” of the anthology film X: Past Is Present in 2015.
After working in traditional film industry, Ojha got into digital entertainment with her creation of the television drama Bin Kuch Kahe in 2017 and with her direction of SonyLIV’s acclaimed family comedy-drama Potluck (2021–2023).
