In 1960, director Addala Narayana Rao provided him with his first break in the film “Samajam,” thus initiating his illustrious career in cinema. Raja Babu’s forte lay in slapstick comedy, and he quickly became renowned for his impeccable timing and effortless humor, ultimately starring in a remarkable 589 films over a span of less than two decades.
Despite predominantly portraying comedic roles, Raja Babu showcased his versatility by essaying lead roles in films like “Tata Manavadu,” “Pichodi Pelli,” and “Thirupathi.” His on-screen chemistry with actresses like Ramaprabha, Leela Rani, and Gitanjali, particularly in tandem with the iconic comedy duo he formed with Ramaprabha, remains legendary.
Beyond his professional achievements, Raja Babu found personal fulfillment in his marriage to Lakshmi Ammalu in 1965.
