Rahul Nair

Biography:

An Indian filmmaker and writer from Mumbai, Rahul Nair completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2014. After moving back to Mumbai, Nair started working as an assistant to feature films and web-series in Hindi, including Ki & Ka (2016), Rock On 2 (2016), and the first season of Inside Edge (2017). He further worked as an associate producer for the first season of the Amazon Prime Video series Made in Heaven (2019).

As a director, Nair’s claim to fame is the comedy-drama series on Netflix called Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (2022), which he conceived and scripted and directed all eight episodes. Featuring Vihaan Samat, Rahul Bose, Suchitra Pillai, Ankur Rathee, Dalai, and Jim Sarbh, the series is about Ray, a socially awkward 24-year-old who struggles with dating, relationships, growing up and gaining confidence in himself, all thanks to his imaginary wizard who serves as his unconventional mentor. Rahul’s inspiration to create the series came from his life experiences and observations of relationships around him, adding a touch of awkwardness, romanticism and coming of age to the series. He later went on to work as a story writer for the second season of Made in Heaven.
