British American producer and media executive Peter Rice was born in 1966. He served as president of 21st Century Fox from 1989 to 2019 and as chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content for The Walt Disney Company.
In 1989, Rice started working for Tom Sherak, who was then in charge of Fox Filmed Entertainment’s U.S. distribution and marketing, at Twentieth Century Fox. Rice took over as Fox Searchlight Pictures’ president in 2000. He also directed Fox Atomic from 2007 to 2008, producing genre and comedy films such as Turistas and 28 Weeks Later. Following Rice’s transfer to Fox’s television division, Fox Atomic was shut down in 2009.
