Paul Edward Valentine Giamatti is an American actor who was born on June 6, 1967. Among his honours are three Golden Globes, a Primetime Emmy, two Academy Award nominations, and a British Academy Film Award. He participated in a number of theatrical plays after attending the Yale School of Drama to study acting. In the Tom Stoppard play Arcadia (1995), Giamatti makes his Broadway debut as Ezra Chater. He portrayed Rev. Donald “Streaky” Bacon in David Hare’s Racing Demon (1995) later that year. He made a comeback to the stage in the revivals of Eugene O’Neill’s The Iceman Cometh (1999) and Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters (1997).
