Pandiarajan is a versatile Indian actor, director, and comedian known for his prominent roles in humorous Tamil films. While he initially played leading roles in comedies, he now predominantly takes on supporting and comedic characters. Born in a lower-middle-class family in Saidapet, Chennai, Pandiarajan has two sisters, Maheshwari and Geetha. In 1986, he married Vasuki, the daughter of renowned Director, Producer, and Poet Avinasi Mani, and the couple has three sons: Prithvi Rajan, Pallava Rajan, and Prem Rajan.
During his early career, Pandiarajan aspired to become an actor but faced challenges due to his height and appearance. While working as an office assistant for writer Thooyavan, he crossed paths with director K. Bhagyaraj and eventually became his associate director.
He played a significant role in the making of successful films like “Darling, Darling, Darling” and “Mundhanai Mudichu.” His directorial debut was “Kanni Rasi” in 1985, and he also acted in and directed other films, including “Aan Paavam” and “Kaivantha Kalai.” Pandiarajan has acted in around 90 Tamil films and one Malayalam hit called “Kathavasheshan.” Additionally, he has ventured into television with the Sun TV serial “Mama Maaple” and has received recognition for his English short film, “Help,” which was nominated at the ArtDeco Film Festival 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil.
