Biography:

Nila Madhab Panda is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who is best known for making films based on socially relevant themes and contributions to the Indian film industry. Through Hindi, Odia, and multi-language films, Nila Madhab Panda has achieved success through stories that revolve around subjects like education, climate change, gender equality, child rights, rural development, and environmental sustainability. He became a sensation after winning international acclaim for his movie, ‘I Am Kalam’, that was released in 2010. It earned him many accolades and prizes both nationally and internationally. In addition to this, he made other movies like Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid, Kaun Kitney Paani Mein, Kadvi Hawa, Kalira Atita, Never Alone, and Ameda. In the digital space, he directed The Stories of Mahatma Gandhi, which was an anthology web series that came out in 2019. Apart from making films, he is the founder of production company Eleeanora Images. Known for realistic storytelling and humanistic approach to film-making, Panda has become one of India’s most celebrated directors and bagged multiple National Film Awards and honors at international film festivals.
