Biography:

Mohit Ratnakar Takalkar is an Indian theater director, filmmaker, and film editor who was born in Pune, Maharashtra, on August 18, 1977. In 2003, he was a co-founder of the theater group Aasakta Kalamanch. More than thirty experimental plays in Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Marwari, and English have been directed by Takalkar. He has directed movies like Medium Spicy and The Bright Day. In Pune, he also owns and operates the restaurant Barometer. He met performer Geetanjali Joshi in 2000 as he was rehearsing his debut play, Yayati. After getting married in 2005, they split up in 2007. He was given a bipolar II disease diagnosis in 2011 and has talked candidly about it.
