Biography:

Amelia Fiona Jessica “Minnie” Driver is an American and British actress and singer who was born on January 31, 1970. Her breakthrough performance in the 1995 movie Circle of Friends catapulted her to fame. The cult classic Grosse Pointe Blank, Gus Van Sant’s Good Will Hunting (for which she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress), the musical The Phantom of the Opera, and Owning Mahowny are just a few of the films in which she went on to star. In Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke, she also voiced Lady Eboshi.

In television, Driver co-starred with Eddie Izzard in The Riches, for which she received a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination. In addition to having a recurrent part in the NBC series Will & Grace, she starred in the ABC sitcom Speechless and the NBC sitcom About a Boy. She has also acted in a number of British dramas, such as BBC One’s The Deep.

Driver was a singer before she started her career as an actress; over her career, she has put out three whole solo albums. In addition, she has provided voice acting for numerous animated films and television shows, such as Tarzan and SuperMansion, as well as computer games, such as Jurassic Park: Trespasser.
