M. Ramesh Baarathi

Biography:

M. Ramesh Baarathi is an Indian film maker, author, editor and director who operates within the sphere of Tamil cinema and digital entertainment industry. He started his career in films as an editor for various Tamil movies including Aal (2014), Aadhiyum Andhamum (2014), and Metro (2016).

The experience he gained as an editor helped him to gain a good knowledge of timing, narration and visual storytelling. He debuted as a director in the Tamil comedy-drama Pistha (2022), which he also authored. Featuring actors like Metro Shirish, Mrudula Murali, Sathish, Yogi Babu, and Senthil, the movie focuses on the story of a wedding fixer whose personal romantic life becomes difficult because of problems arising with his marriage plans.

He shifted from Tamil movies to OTT storytelling and directed the Disney+ Hotstar show Uppu Puli Kaaram (2024), a drama about families and relationships.
