Lisa Mishra is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. Her rendition of the song Tareefan in the 2018 Indian film Veere Di Wedding is her most well-known performance. Ever since, she has contributed to songs such as ‘The Wakhra Song’ from the 2019 movie Judgementall Hai Kya, ‘Nadaaniyaan’ from the movie The Sky Is Pink, and the upbeat hit ‘Chandigarh Mein’ from Good Newsz.
Now that she has released her debut full-length album, “Sorry, I’m Late,” which she composed and wrote, Lisa Mishra is on an unstoppable upward trajectory and intends to solidify her place in the music industry. She has already achieved a number of notable independent singles, including “Sajna Ve,” “Aa Mil,” and “Rider.” Additionally, she expands her career outside music by making her acting debut in the Dharma Productions-produced series “Call Me Bae” (2024).
Mishra grew up in Chicago after being born in Berhampur, Odisha. She earned her degree from Bloomington, Illinois’ Illinois Wesleyan University with a double degree in religion and economics, and has experience conducting research at Harvard University’s Pluralism Project in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as the Andrew Mellon Foundation.
In 2 007, at the age of thirteen, she launched her own YouTube account She s.ang backup on the song “All We Got” from Chance the Rapper’s Grammy-winning album “Coloring Book (mixtape)”—her first studio experience. Additionally, Lisa received credit as a songwriter and vocalist on the songs “I Love You So Much” by DJ Khaled featuring Chance the Rapper and “Single No More” by Chance the Rapper.
