Lesley Nicol, an English actress who was born on August 7, 1953, has won three SAG Awards for Best Cast in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Beryl Patmore in the drama TV series Downton Abbey on ITV and PBS. She also starred in the series’ 2022 sequel, 2025 finale, and 2019 feature film adaptation.
Nicol grew up in Manchester, Lancashire, where he was born. Her mother was a model and TV host, while her father was a physician. At seventeen, she dropped out of school to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she eventually earned a degree.
