Indian actor and art director Krishnakumar Balasubramanian primarily performs in Tamil films. In 2010 saw Krishnakumar make his feature film debut in the title role of Kadhalagi. In October 2018, he starred in a short film that Ritesh Batra directed.
In 2020, he returned to Tamil cinema with a role in the Putham Pudhu Kaalai Amazon Prime anthology film. Later that year, he continued to perform the same crucial role as actor Suriya’s friend in the Telugu dubbing of Soorarai Pottru. He was Dhanush’s companion in Maaran, a supporting role he portrayed in 2022.
In December 2012, India Today celebrated its 37th anniversary and included Krishnakumar among its 37 Indians of the future, along with Virat Kohli and Ranbir Kapoor. Krishnakumar is a participant in the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers community (2012).
He participated in a panel discussion titled “South Asia’s Children—Are We Thinking about South Asia’s Tomorrow” at the World Economic Forum on India 2012 alongside Ulhas Yargop, President of Mahindra & Mahindra, India, and Sarah Brown, the wife of the former UK prime minister.
