Biography:

Karan Boolani is an Indian director and producer whose works include various Hindi movies and digital entertainment pieces. Karan started out as a production professional and an assistant director, working as a first assistant director for movies like Saas Bahu Aur Sensex (2008), Wake Up Sid (2009) and Aisha (2010).

Over the course of his career, he has directed and produced over 500 television commercials and branded content all around the world, gathering significant experience in storytelling and working with popular sports figures and actors as well as leading brands.Boolani premiered his first feature movie in 2023, when he released the theatrical comedy-drama Thank You for Coming co-produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor. Featuring an ensemble cast of Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, and Shibani Bedi, the movie premiered internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The story revolved around themes of female friendship, sexuality, relationships and self-discovery, with the protagonist being a modern woman discovering herself in the context of intimacy. Along with feature films, he has expanded to the premium streaming sphere, serving as a series director for the adaptation of the spy thriller 24 featuring Anil Kapoor and as a director and showrunner of the Netflix sports drama Selection Day.

Karan Boolani is known for his visual aesthetics and interest in themes of modern relationships and society expectations, operating effectively at the intersection of Hindi mainstream cinema and digital OTT entertainment.
