Jithan Ramesh

Biography:

Indian actor and film producer Ramesh Choudary, better known by his stage name Jithan Ramesh, works in Tamil cinema. He is the older brother of actor Jiiva and the third son of film producer R. B. Choudary. Jithan (2005), a thriller, marked his debut, and he has since continued to play leading parts. The Telugu film Vidyardhi (2004), which was produced by his father R. B. Choudary’s studio Super Good Films, marked Ramesh’s acting debut. Ramesh’s first main part drew criticism. After that, he starred in Jithan (2005), his debut Tamil film, which was shot concurrently with Gayab (2004), a Hindi feature. The film, which was directed by Vincent Selva and produced by Radaan Mediaworks, starred Ramesh with Pooja as an introverted student who gains superpowers. Reviews for the movie and Ramesh’s performance were fantastic. He does a “convincing job,” according to a critic from The Hindu, but “Ramesh has miles to go before he gets his expressions correct,” according to a Sify.com reviewer. Due to Jithan’s strong box office performance, Ramesh changed his stagename to Jithan.

Ramesh signed several films shortly after Jithan’s debut, including the love dramas Madhu (2006) and Nee Venunda Chellam (2006), as well as the comedic drama Jery (2006), which was written by Crazy Mohan. The box office value of his films was impacted by the poor commercial performance of the first two. A Rediff.com reviewer had conflicting opinions regarding his performance in Nee Venunda Chellam. “Ramesh, in a breezy role, enjoys every bit of it” and “though comedy is not his strong suit, he has tried his best and come out with a satisfactory performance” are two more positive remarks Jery received. Madurai Veeran (2007) and Puli Varudhu (2007), his next two action dramas, received mixed reviews when they were first released.
