Jai Mehta

Biography:

Jai Mehta is an Indian filmmaker and director who has created various works in Hindi movies as well as digital entertainment. He is the son of Hansal Mehta, the National award-winning film-maker and director. He started his journey in this field as an assistant and associate director working in successful movies like That Girl in Yellow Boots, Gangs of Wasseypur, Shahid, CityLights, Aligarh, and Omerta. With experience gained through collaborations with some of the top-notch film-makers, Jai has directed many advertisements and even television projects.

He became known for co-directing SonyLIV’s popular financial drama series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, released in 2020 and became one of the highest-rated web series of India. His directorial debut movie was the action adventure thriller series Lootere on Disney+ Hotstar, released in 2024. As well as being a film-maker, Jai has worked as a producer and writer in Shahid, Aligarh, and Pirates series. He is known for creating realistic stories having strong visual storytelling and character-driven narratives.
