J. Suresh

Biography:

Indian filmmaker J. Suresh has helmed Tamil motion pictures. Ennavale and Junior Senior are among the films he has directed since his 1998 debut with Velai. In 2002, he collaborated with Mammootty as a junior senior. He has created hundreds of Tamil advertisements. Additionally, he collaborated with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Yuvan Shankar Raja on an album. In 2018, he directed foreign films in Burma.

In his second project, Suresh made his screen debut in the drama film Velai (1998), which included music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Following that, Suresh asked Mani Ratnam to produce his upcoming movie, Ennavale, but he declined. Nevertheless, Mani Ratnam introduced Suresh to Madhavan. Originally titled Sugham, the movie was Sneha’s first feature after her first film, Virumbugiren, was postponed.  However, the movie received bad reviews when it first came out and did poorly at the box office. “Absurd and haphazardly shot Junior Senior is one of the most infuriating movies in recent times,” a critic wrote of his subsequent romantic comedy, which starred Mammootty and Hamsavardhan.

In 2008, Suresh released the movie Surangani, which included Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer and in which he would play the lead. However, the movie was never finished and never came out, even with consistent timetables. He directed and played the protagonist in the commercial action movie Paraseega Mannan (2012), which was about child trafficking. Suresh composed the soundtrack for the movie, which was also produced in Malayalam as Arabian Rajakumaran. Yuvan Shankar Raja assisted him with song discussions.  The film’s low-key release in December 2012 caused it to go unnoticed.

In May 2001, Suresh wed the actress Meera at a temple in Chennai’s T Nagar. Meera had contributed to numerous Tamil and other language films, including Pondatti Sonna Kettukanum (1991) and Arunachalam (1997).
