Biography:

Hazel Keech, born on February 28, 1987, is a British actress and model who has made a mark in Indian films and television. She is also known as Rose Dawn and, after her marriage, as Gurbasant Kaur. Her notable appearances include roles in movies like “Billa” and “Bodyguard,” as well as featuring in a Suzuki advertisement. Additionally, she showcased her dancing skills in the Frankfinn Music remix item number titled “Kahin Pe Nigahaen” and participated in the reality TV show “Bigg Boss 7” in 2013.

In her early life, Hazel Keech was born in Essex, England, to a British father and an Indo-Mauritian Hindu mother with Bihari ancestry. She attended Beal High School in Redbridge, London, where she actively participated in stage shows and honed her dance abilities in various styles, including Indian classical, British dance, and western contemporary.

Keech’s career spanned television, film, and stage. She danced in the British program “Agatha Christie’s Marple” and was featured in the BBC documentary series “Call The Shots,” highlighting her work in Hindi films. In 2002, she joined the promotional tour of the Bollywood musical “Bombay Dreams” in London and even sang in the choir of the West End musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” She also had minor roles in several Harry Potter films. In 2005, during a holiday in Mumbai, she received work offers that prompted her to stay in India and pursue a modeling and acting career. Her modeling career began under the name Rose Dawn, and she appeared in various music videos and TV commercials.

Notably, Hazel Keech appeared on the popular Indian TV show “Bigg Boss 7” in September 2013, but she was eliminated within a week. Following her eviction, she expressed her frustration with fellow contestant Pratyusha Banerjee, accusing her of causing conflicts.

On a personal note, Hazel Keech got engaged to Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh on November 12, 2015, and they tied the knot on November 30, 2016. After marriage, she adopted the name “Gurbasant Kaur.” The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Orion, on January 25, 2022, and their second child, a daughter named Aura, was born on August 25, 2023. Keech has also shared her struggle with severe depression during her time in India and her journey of survival, even taking up a diploma in Psychotherapy to help others facing similar challenges.
