Harika Narayan

Biography:

Harika Narayan is a prominent playback singer and music director in the Indian Film Industry, primarily known for her work in Telugu and Tamil films. She made her singing debut in the Telugu movie “SuryaKantham” in 2019 with the song “Friday night baby,” and gained recognition in Tamil with “What the Uff” in 2022. Her notable contributions include lending her voice to films like RRR and Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, receiving acclaim for her soothing vocals.

Born on October 8, 1995, in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, to Mr. K. V. Lakshmi Narayana and Mrs. K. V. Nagalakshmi, Harika comes from a family with a musical background. Her father, a former employee of the Indian Air Force, and her younger brother Yashwanth, currently pursuing chartered accountancy, share her passion for music. Harika’s educational journey took her to various institutions due to her father’s service, ultimately leading her to graduate with honors in mechanical engineering from Anurag University.

Harika’s musical journey began at a young age under the guidance of her mother, K. V. Naga Lakshmi, and later received training from her aunt BVNL. Padmavati after relocating to Hyderabad. She further honed her skills under the tutelage of Sri D. V. Mohana Krishna for ten years, earning a diploma in music and other certificates. Her passion for music led her to pursue a diploma in Carnatic Vocal Classical and enroll in Padmavati University’s Post Graduate program in Carnatic Vocal and M.A. in Music in Tirupathi.

Her singing career took off with the success of “Friday night baby” from “Suryakantham,” followed by contributions to films like Miss India, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, Black Rose, Acharya, Laahe Laahe, and Sarkaru Vaari Paata. In Tamil, she debuted with “What the Uff,” featuring Nivetha Pethuraj dancing, with Think Originals handling the song’s label.
