H. K. Prakash

Biography:

Indian businessman and film producer H. K. Prakash is well renowned for his Kannada productions. Under his production company Shree Devi Entertainers, he has produced popular Kannada films such as RangiTaranga and Avane Srimannarayana.

Following his success in the real estate industry, Prakash made his debut in the Kannada film industry with the RangiTaranga which was helmed by Anup Bhandari. RangiTaranga became one of the most successful films. It also significantly expanded the Kannada film industry abroad. It was the first Kannada movie to be released in multiple nations, featured on the New York Box Office Listing, and was the first and only Kannada movie to run for 50 days in the United States. Although RangiTaranga did not make it to the final nominees, it was one of the 305 films that were shortlisted for the Academy Awards (The Oscars). Prakash has been actively involved in film production ever since.
