Guhan Senniappan

Biography:

Guhan Senniappan is an Indian movie director and screenwriter known to work mainly in the world of Tamil films. The Indian filmmaker has established himself in the industry after taking part in reality filmmaking competition Naalaya Iyakkunar, where he emerged as the runner-up in the third edition of the event. His first movie, Sawaari (2016) which he wrote, marks his feature directorial debut and is a road psychological thriller starring Benito Franklin, Sanam Shetty, Karthik Yogi, and Mathivanan Rajendran. The movie features the story of a policeman, driver, and a killer all meeting during their travel together.

His next movie direction was for episodes of Tamil crime series, Vella Raja (2018). Later, he directed and wrote the upcoming science-fiction action thriller Weapon (2024) starring Sathyaraj and Vasanth Ravi. The movie which combines action, mystery, science fiction, and superhero stories follows the story of a YouTuber and environmentalist who are searching for a mysterious superhuman while other parties are also competing for the same target. In the process of his career growth in movies, he has developed a unique style of filmmaking focused on genre stories, suspense, and ambitious concepts among others.
