Finty Williams

Biography:

Williams, the sole child of Michael Williams and Judi Dench, was born in London on September 24, 1972. Williams uses “Finty” as her first name in both personal and professional contexts. Her father gave her the nickname, which stuck. Williams received training at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama, from which he graduated in 1994. She has a single son. According to Judi Dench, her mother, Williams did not inform her that she would become a grandmother until a few days prior to the delivery.

The opening titles of the British romantic comedy television series As Time Goes By, which stars Williams’ mother, use her photo. In 1998 and 2005, Williams was accused of driving while intoxicated. She was found guilty in both cases; she was not sentenced to prison, but her driver’s license was suspended for two years in the first case and five years in the second, and she had to complete community service. She sought treatment after publicly acknowledging her drinking. She celebrated her third year of recovery in 2022.
