Balinska was born in London on October 4, 1996, to Jamaican-British chef Lorraine Pascale and Polish musicias and businessman Kaz Balinski Jundzill. She has stated that she is of “British, Polish, and Caribbean” descent. In 2000, her parents got divorced. Sophie Anderton, a model, is her father’s wife.
Balinska was the javelin thrower for Team London and participated in national track and field competitions in addition to playing county-level netball. She attended James Allen’s Girls’ School in Dulwich before moving to Chiswick in 2015 to complete her sixth form at Arts Educational School (ArtsEd). After that, she attended the Guildford School of Acting for training. She left for work during her last semester in 2018 and came back in 2020 to finish her degree, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in 2021. In her honour, the Ella Balinska Scholarship was created.
