Danish Husain

Biography:

Murtaza Danish Husaini was born into a Muslim household.His mother taught Persian literature at Delhi University.An economist was his father. Danish earned degrees in business and economics from Delhi University. Husain began his career in finance, but at the age of thirty, he became disillusioned and switched to the performing arts.

Husain collaborated with Mahmood Farooqui (who started in 2005) to revitalize Urdu storytelling, Dastangoi, and created Qissebaazi, a multilingual storytelling style, in 2016.The Hoshruba Repertory is his Mumbai theater company.

He has acted in numerous feature films, such as Soorma (2018), Dhobi Ghat (2010), Peepli Live (2010), and Newton (2017). Additionally, he has been in television shows including Bard of Blood (2019), Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu (2021), and Taj Mahal 1989 (2020).
