Chidambaram Manivannan

Biography:

Chidambaram Manivannan is an Indian filmmaker, director, writer, and producer who focuses on Tamil digital entertainment. As a director, he made his debut with the web series Emergency (2020), a medical drama that he co-wrote alongside Raj Mohan. This series centres on three young female doctors and their struggle to balance their personal and professional lives amidst the professional problems, societal discrimination, and risk of contracting infectious diseases. His involvement with this project revealed his keenness in creating socially-relevant contemporary narratives.

After this film, Chidambaram Manivannan went on to direct another Tamil youth drama called Kana Kaanum Kaalangal (2022), a coming-of-age show that deals with the issues related to school, friendship, romance, and adolescence. In addition, he contributed to Vera Maari Office (2023) and Uppu Puli Kaaram (2024). He also worked as an executive producer and director on JioHotstar Tamil police comedy-drama series, Police Police (2025–2026), in collaboration with Koan. Through this diverse portfolio of work, Manivannan has demonstrated his skills in various genre including medical drama, youth entertainment, workplace comedy, family drama, and police stories.
