Biography:

Atul Agnihotri, born on 8 July 1970, is a multifaceted Indian personality known for his contributions as an actor, director, and producer in the Bollywood film industry.

Born into a Punjabi Brahmin Hindu family, Atul Agnihotri is the son of Rohit Agnihotri, a former actor who later ventured into business. At a young age, Agnihotri faced the responsibility of supporting his family after the loss of his father. Inspired by his cousin, actress Rati Agnihotri, Atul pursued a career in films.

Agnihotri’s Bollywood journey began in 1993 with his debut as the lead protagonist in the critically acclaimed film “Sir.” He continued to showcase his acting prowess in notable films like “Aatish: Feel the Fire” (1994) and “Krantiveer” (1994), among others.

Transitioning from acting to directing, Agnihotri made his directorial debut with “Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa” (2004), starring Salman Khan, Bhoomika Chawla, and Preity Zinta. He further ventured into direction with “Hello” (2008), which, despite his efforts as both producer and director, failed to make a mark at the box office.

Agnihotri’s success as a film producer came with the blockbuster hit “Bodyguard” (2011), starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. He continued to produce films like “O Teri” (2014) and the highly anticipated “Bharat” (2019), an adaptation of the Korean film “Ode to My Father.”

Beyond his professional endeavors, Atul Agnihotri is known for his familial ties with some of Bollywood’s prominent figures, including his marriage to producer/designer Alvira Khan Agnihotri, sister of actors Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan.
