Indian screenwriter and filmmaker Anand Shankar mainly works in Tamil movies. In Anjaana Anjaani (2010), Shankar served as Siddharth Anand’s assistant director to begin his career. Additionally, he worked as a producer-director’s assistant for AR Murugadoss on Thuppakki and 7aum Arivu. He completed his first film, Arima Nambi, a Tamil thriller starring Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand, with success. Both Arima Nambi and Iru Mugan, which he directed, turned into box office hits. He directed NOTA in 2018, which featured Vijay Devarkonda in his first Tamil film. October 5, 2018, saw the release of the movie.
The writer Komal Swaminathan, winner of the National Award, is the grandson of Anand Shankar.
Anand Shankar got a mechanical engineering degree in Chennai from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE), after which he studied Film Making at the New York Film Academy
