Abi Varghese

Biography:

Abi Varghese is an Indian director, writer, producer, and actor who has made significant contributions to the field of Malayalam cinema and digital entertainment industry. Initially, he started out directing independent movies and gained more visibility with his satirical comedy Monsoon Mangoes (2016) that starred Fahadh Faasil. In his filmmaking career, he has directed several movies including Aadu 2 (associated with the production), The Gambinos, and Freedom Fight (segment). In addition to his accomplishments in cinema, he has been equally successful in the OTT world. Abi Varghese is most recognized for the creation and direction of the Malayalam OTT series called Jai Mahendran (2024), which is a political satire and also for the direction of the zombie comedy movie named Corona Dhavan. Known for his quirky style of storytelling, wit, and unorthodox narrative structure, he often focuses on topics related to politics, bureaucracy, and everyday life in a satirical manner.
