Shantanu Maheshwari

Biography:

Shantanu Maheshwari is an Indian actor, dancer, choreographer, and host. He primarily worked in the television industry and gradually rose to prominence. He made his television debut in 2011 with Channel V’s “Dil Dosti Dance.” In 2022, Maheshwari made his Bollywood debut, starring opposite Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Gangubai Kathiawadi.”

He gained fame through his portrayal of Swayam Shekhawat over the four-year run of “Dil Dosti Dance,” with his chemistry with co-star Vrushika Mehta earning widespread acclaim. In 2015, he appeared in Zing’s episodic show “Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya” and Bindass’s shows “Yeh Hai Aashiqui” and “Bindass Nach.” Maheshwari later joined Desi Hoppers, the first Indian dance crew to win at the World of Dance competition. Alongside Desi Hoppers, he also performed at the University of Oxford, UK, during a social entrepreneur summit.

In 2016, Maheshwari participated in the celebrity dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9” on Colors TV. He also won “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8,” which was filmed in Spain and hosted by Bollywood director Rohit Shetty. Recognized for his influence on young people, Maheshwari was invited to be a motivational speaker at the IIMUN championship conference MUNCLAVE 2019/20. He has hosted shows like “India’s Best Dramebaaz” on Zee TV and MTV’s “Love on the Run,” and has performed in numerous award shows and music videos, including the hit “Haaye Oye.” He has also acted in the web series “Medically Yours”.

Born in Kolkata to a Marwadi family, Maheshwari moved to Mumbai for higher studies, where he joined his college’s dance crew and began his journey. He received Likee’s Digital Influencer award as the Youth Icon of the year for the same. Most recently, he appeared in the Amazon mini TV series “Campus Beats.”
