Mehndi’s debut album “Bolo Ta Ra Ra” became a massive success, selling over 20 million copies and earning him accolades like the Channel V’s Best Indian Male Pop Artist Award. Subsequent albums like “Dardi Rab Rab” and “Balle Balle” continued his meteoric rise in the music industry, winning multiple Channel V Awards and going multi-platinum.
His iconic track “Tunak Tunak Tun,” released in 1998, became a sensation in India and internationally, solidifying Mehndi’s status as one of India’s biggest pop stars. The song’s music video, produced on a record budget at the time, added to its unprecedented success.
