The film “Game Changer,” a collaboration between South Indian directors Shankar and actor Ram Charan, seems to be plagued by ongoing problems and uncertainties. Originally budgeted at around 250 crore rupees during pre-production, there were expectations that the producer, Dil Raju, would keep costs under control.
However, as shooting commenced, the budget reportedly soared beyond Ram Charan’s market reach. Further complicating matters is the resurgence of Kamal Haasan’s film “Indian 2,” which has added to the challenges faced by “Game Changer.”
The film’s first schedule began at the end of 2021, but two years later, significant portions of the shooting remain incomplete, pushing the budget to a staggering 340 crore rupees. Recovering such a massive budget is a daunting task, requiring widespread pan-India appeal and significant theatrical success.
Originally slated for an Independence Day weekend 2024 release, “Game Changer” now faces a scheduling conflict, as the makers of “Indian 2” also aim for an Independence Day release. This could potentially push “Game Changer” to a late 2024 release, leaving the release date of the film in limbo.
