Vidya Balan is not playing a cameo in NTR

Vidya Balan, the actress who came into prominence with Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Parineeta, in 2006. Before that she did play good roles in several TV shows and her major success has been Hum Paanch. After gaining success in Bollywood, she went onto star in several films that did not really redefine her career but kept her in the good books of the audience. Once, she decided to do The Dirty Picture, everything changed and she became the actress with a box office pull.

She has been doing films which do adhere to her image and come up with interesting themes as well. Several worked and several films, did not. But the name she earned remained with her and now, she is doing Basavatarakamma role in NTR biopic. Even though many Telugu producers wanted to cast her in their film, she liked the script of NTR and the kind of life of a legend it is going to tell.

Recently, the talk about her role being a cameo spread like wildfire. Many said that the film might not give her role much importance as much as it does to NTR and people around him. Vidya Balan clarified on this herself. She said, “I am not playing a cameo but a very important character. I liked the script and wanted to work with Krish for sometime. I am excited to join the shoot and work on the film.”
