Recently, Rohit Shetty accepted responsibility for the Cirkus flop at the box office and admitted that something went wrong.
Following the massive success of Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, Rohit Shetty made a comeback with Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh. The ensemble cast movie, which also features Pooja Hegde, struggled at the box office since it was unable to get viewers to the theatres. Rohit Shetty has finished filming his stunt-based reality series Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 in preparation for his return to the big screen.
The director discussed Cirkus’ box office flop during one of the promotional interviews, admitting that something went wrong. He also discussed his other successful flicks, including Singham and Golmaal.
“I make sure to surround myself with people who are honest with me,” Rohit Shetty remarked in an interview. So I am aware when a movie performs poorly. I’ve always thought that my actions are what determine my achievements and failures. It serves no purpose to avoid it. It was also my when Singham or Golmaal succeeded, just as it was mine when Zameen, Dilwale, or Cirkus failed. I don’t see the value of pointing the finger elsewhere. I’m aware of what we did. We certainly made a mistake somewhere. It was created shortly after Sooryavanshi and in the midst of the workers’ (Covid-19) pandemic. A little film made for the target market at the time.
“Despite a 50% occupancy, the same audience made Sooryvanshi a blockbuster, so if it didn’t work for Cirkus, I must also accept responsibility for failures. This is not to suggest that I won’t do Cirkus again, or that I won’t return to the Singham franchise, Golmaal, or any other movie. It’s okay that way. Every five years, according to my team, you are grounded for such failures. The acclaimed director continued, “I do feel a feeling of responsibility to return the love they give me. I eventually aspire to live up to the expectations of the public.
We informed you this afternoon that Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty have confirmed Golmaal 5.
