Reasons Behind Kabali Movie Backdrop in Malaysia
Rajnikanth fans in Malaysia who watched Kabali have reported that the climax of the film has been changed on screens in that country.Spoiler alert ahead: The Indian version ends with the screen fading to black after a gunshot, leaving it to the imagination of the viewer to decide whether Kabali has been shot dead or not. The Malaysian version, however, ends with the line, “Finally, Kabali surrendered to the police”.Some Twitter posts claimed the climax was changed because the Censor board in Malaysia would not allow their police to be shown encouraging an extra-judicial killing. On Indian screens, the Malaysian police are shown giving a gun to one of Kabali’s men to shoot him dead.
