Read Mahabharata First: Nag Ashwin Hits Back At Critics

Director Nag Ashwin has replied to criticism about the way Karna was shown in Kalki 2898 AD.

A social media user said that the Karna inspired character in Lenin was portrayed better and called the climax of Kalki disrespectful to Hindu beliefs.

Responding to this comment Nag Ashwin asked people to read the Mahabharata without fail before judging the film. He shared a passage from Bibek Debroy’s translation of the epic where Lord Krishna praises Karna.

Nag Ashwin said he has great respect for our Indian history and mythology and knows exactly what he is doing for sure. He also asked everyone to wait for Kalki Part 2.

The sequel starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone is currently being filmed.
