Indian cinema has seen many versions of the epic Ramayana, with Adipurush being the most recent. Now, director Nitesh Tiwari is working on a new two-part Ramayana film starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
The film’s team released a glimpse and announced the release dates, but they haven’t revealed full looks of the lead actors. The teaser ends with a side view of Ranbir and a partial look at Yash.
The short video also shows how gods like Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva struggled against a powerful demon, leading to the arrival of Lord Ram to restore Dharma. Though the story is familiar, it’s the new-age presentation that will set this film apart.
The movie is being made for an IMAX experience, with music by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, and top-notch VFX.
Sunny Deol plays Hanuman and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshmana. Part One releases Diwali 2026, Part Two in Diwali 2027.
