Rajamouli Shares New Details About Varanasi
Rajamouli’s Varanasi has been making headlines since filming began. While all the fans knew the movie was being shot for IMAX the director has now explained why he chose the premium format.
In an interview, Rajamouli said the film’s massive scale required IMAX to give viewers a more immersive experience without fail.
He revealed that the movie features giant Antarctic ice formations nearly 300 feet tall and huge Vanara Sena armies inspired by the Ramayana.
The larger IMAX screen and expanded aspect ratio help showcase these grand visuals in the best way. Rajamouli is still keeping the story under wraps but excitement remains high.
Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Varanasi releases on April 7th 2027 for sure. Around 80% of the shoot has already been completed as per the reports.
#Varanasi’s MASSIVE IMAX Scale:
“From 300-foot-high ice walls in Antarctica to gigantic armies of Ancient Rome, the scale is massive.
We wanted to capture their immensity in the best possible way, and the IMAX ratio allowed us to do that.”
