Rajamouli Opens Up About Mythological Elements In Varanasi

Rajamouli is currently directing his next ambitious project Varanasi. Mahesh Babu is leading this high budget film which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027.

In an interview Rajamouli revealed details about the film’s concept. He explained that Varanasi blends mythology, time travel and divine elements, with nearly 25 minutes dedicated to mythological portions.

This approach continues his signature style of mixing epic themes with modern storytelling.

The film’s first glimpse has already impressed audiences raising expectations further. Produced by KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya while Varanasi stars Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Prakash Raj.

MM Keeravani is composing the music. The film is currently in production and is being shot specially for IMAX screens promising a grand cinematic experience.
