Theaters have been in shut down mode from more than 100 days and it might take more than two months for theaters to re-open. Filmmakers are now more worried that audiences might not show interest in coming to theaters even after theaters re-opens. So few of them who are adamant about the movie’s releases in theaters are now considering the option of releasing in OTTs.
The latest buzz in the industry is that we might see more medium or low budget movies coming OTT way. Raj Tarun who is looking to bounce back strong after a series of flops has done a rom-com Orey Bujjiga. Vijay Kumar Konda of Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde and Oka Laila Kosam fame has directed the film. The film was initially scheduled for the release on March 25th.
With the COVID-19 circumstances, Orey Bujjiga’s release has been postponed. OTT platforms then approached the makers offering lucrative price. However, they denied the offer looking for theatrical release. With the conditions not favoring theatrical release anytime soon now Orey Bujjiga producers are re-negotiating OTT deals. Official statement regarding this will come out very soon.
