However, Salaar, another film that initially quoted Rs 200Cr, ended up with a lower figure of 160Cr, facing negotiation challenges and falling short in Andhra Pradesh to break even. Pushpa 1, although not a massive success in Telugu states, gained significant collections primarily from other regions, especially the Hindi version.
Considering Pushpa 1‘s performance, buyers might hesitate to invest in larger sums. For Andhra Pradesh, makers are quoting around 100Cr, as recovering large amounts outside of the Sankranthi season has proven challenging, as seen with Salaar.
Pushpa 1 didn’t achieve substantial numbers here, which raises doubts about the sequel’s potential success. Makers are estimating around 70-75Cr for Nizam, which might work, but buyers in Andhra Pradesh are cautious due to current conditions. while Pushpa 2’s makers are setting high expectations, the previous performance of Pushpa 1 and other similar films suggests that achieving these figures, especially in specific regions, might prove challenging.”
