Pooja Hegde Dubs In Tamil For The First Time

Pooja Hegde is currently getting more offers in Tamil while her Telugu projects have slowed down. She is playing the female lead opposite Suriya in Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro, set to release on May 1st, 2025.

The team revealed that Pooja put in a lot of effort for the film and even learned Tamil to dub her own voice. Although she has acted in Tamil movies before including Vijay’s Beast this is her first time dubbing in Tamil.

Born and raised in Mumbai Pooja has family roots in Karnataka. She is fluent in Hindi and Kannada and she has also dubbed for herself in Telugu films like Aravinda Sametha and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

The Retro team was thrilled by her dedication. After an impressive look test, she took daily Tamil lessons and surprised everyone by delivering long monologues perfectly.

The team even had fun teasing her with tricky Tamil words on set.
