Originally this movie slated for Sankranthi 2024, Kalki’s release has been pushed to the summer due to ongoing CG work complications. Nag Ashwin, the director, known for his meticulous approach, is keen on delivering a top-tier cinematic experience, contributing to the prolonged production time.
The film’s intricate CGI requirements further contribute to the extended timeline. Consequently, the latest speculation suggests that Kalki – 2898 AD may not hit the screens in 2024 at all. The anticipated release date now leans towards early 2025, with Maruthi’s movie set to follow Kalki in Prabhas’s lineup.
