Demonetization might have come as a big boon to several cash dwellers but it has become a vicious curse for Producers. The small time producers, especially had to cancel their plans to produce and release the movies. Several movies that were supposed to release late last year had to wait in the labs in hard drives for several months to see the light of the day. One may argue this is an everyday truth in Telugu Film Industry and not just an effect of Demonetization.
Well, your argument is valid till the point that several producers and films do struggle to find a release due to financial problems every other day but movies that managed to grab the eye of the audience, the smaller ones had to suffer the most. Yakub Ali’s film, Vellipomakey, generated lot of buzz with its trailer few months ago, and the film found a distributor in Dil Raju backing up for a good release.
Unfortunately, in the Demonetization days had the film been released it would have suffered further for it all being a small film by a group of youngsters. The film slowly lost all the buzz and even the enthusiasts stopped talking about it and several thought it would not release at all. But Dil Raju at the audio function, held recently, announced the date to be March 10. Hopefully, the movie does live upto the buzz and become another Pelli Choopulu for the industry.
