“Kalki 2898 AD,” an outstanding awaited Telugu film starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, was originally scheduled for release on May 9, 2024. However, due to the simultaneous AP elections, rumours of a postponement circulated.
While the makers have yet to confirm a new date officially, discussions have been held with distributors, and May 30th is being considered as a potential alternative. Despite some distributors expressing reservations about the May 9th date, the makers believe it’s a safe choice due to summer holidays boosting audience turnout.
However, they’re also exploring other May dates, reluctant to push the release to June or later due to upcoming competition and Hindi releases. With discussions ongoing among producers, Prabhas, and exhibitors, the final release date remains undecided.
The star-studded cast includes Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan with Santhosh Narayanan handling the music. The aim is to secure a prime release window in May, ensuring maximum audience engagement and minimizing competition from other films.
